Mission

The mission of Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT) is to empower women through technology. The organization aims at increasing women’s awareness, interest and participation in technology in order to decrease the gender divide in technology usage and increase women’s participation in technical workforce and policy making.

More specifically FAT works:

• to provide women access to technology and technical education whereby boosting their confidence and developing competence
• to offer women in all levels of the technology industry a wide range of professional development and networking opportunities to increase women’s participation in the technical work force
• to advocate use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) amongst all women and show the how ICT can be a powerful tool to exercise freedom of expression, to gain access to information, and hence to empowerment
• to provide strategic technical support to other organizations/individuals working towards women empowerment
