Team

At present all the team members of FAT are working on a voluntary basis.

Gayatri Buragohain, Founder
Gayatri has a B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunications from Assam Engineering College, Assam. After her graduation she worked for four years in several small technical houses and then finally moved to the development sector. Prior to starting FAT, she was working with a non-profit organization called CREA as the Website and Systems Administrator. She had always wanted to work with women and this desire finally led to her leaving CREA and starting FAT in August 2007. At present she devotes her full time for FAT.

Hassath
Hassath has always enjoyed learning new things and working in different areas, and her career reflects that. She has worked with the publishing industry and video film-making, and then moved to the development sector, where she has spent most of her professional life. She has been managing the Information Systems at Aman Trust for the past four years. She has also been responsible for training the staff at Aman to use Linux productively. Hassath has also organised workshops to introduce non-technical users from the development sector to Linux.

Sunayana Sitaram
Sunayana is a Final Year undergraduate student of Computer Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Surat. Her interests include Speech and Language Processing, and she hopes to pursue higher studies in these fields and ultimately take up research and teaching. In addition, she is also very passionate about women's issues, and has started a group for female engineering students under her college's ACM student chapter.

Valsa Williams
Valsa started her career as a Unix and Cobol developer, worked in various IT departments before taking on Consulting/ Advisory jobs for various Governments.  Governments across Asia are at different levels of establishing e-governance. Valsa has been part of many steering committees driving adoption of ICT in Government.

Valsa is an Open Source Evangelist for many years and has helped establish and show case successful adoption of Linux and Open Source in government applications and education. She is presently Head of Corporate Affairs for North & East of India and  manages Government relations at a strategic level. The Intel education initiative  is one of the programs that is also managed by this group.
