Techy Women Program

Techy Women Program is for women who have chosen a technical career; have either studied/are studying in technical fields or working/want to work in technical fields. This program is dedicated to offering women in all levels of the technology industry a wide range of professional development and networking opportunities. The program aims in creating a forum where women in technology can support each other and women can be recognized and promoted as role models.

Activities under this program are:

1. TechyWomen Community has been created with the goal to facilitate networking between women in technical careers. Through this community, experienced and established women in technical fields can be guides and mentors for young girls in the field. This community has following features:

• The TechyWomen mailing list has been created to start a platform for discussion on women and technology. 
• The TechyWomen community website will have a system where students can find a mentor and vise versa. 
• The Community website will highlight some established women tech professionals as role models with their interviews and success stories.

2. TechyWomen Workshops for Women by Women will be organized to offer women in technical fields short workshops on specialized skills at affordable rates. These workshops will be to boost their spirit by showcasing an already established women professional (who will be facilitating the workshop) as the role model, and will offer initial know how about a specialized stream of technology, some introductory skills and links to get more info. Also workshops on negotiation skills, balancing work and life, enhancing leadership, etc. will be organized.
