Help Us Expand To New Locations Across India!

FAT started its Young Women’s Leadership Program in 2010 through the Tech Center in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and over the last 5 years, has established a tested model of integrating technology learning with leadership development of adolescent girls and young women which has been appreciated by our stakeholders across the board. Our model has had a huge impact in supporting the emergence of young women leaders at the grassroot level, with strong conviction in feminist ideologies and confidence in their leadership. The appreciation for our model is evident as we receive multiple requests from various stakeholders to expand our work in other regions of India.

In 2013 we started our first partnership in Gujarat (Vadodara) with Sahiyar Stree Sangathan, a local women's rights organization, as a way to learn how our model can be adapted as per the realities of the local context and the areas of our partner’s work. Having learnt a great deal with the first partnership, we are now confident that this program can be expanded and adapted in other parts of India and hence we are continuing expansions in multiple locations. Our model of expansion is to partner with local grassroot organization so we can learn from them to adapt it locally and build their capacity to run and sustain the program independently over a few years of partnership.

In 2016, we have already started a centre in Giridih, Jharkhand with Abhivyakti Foundation and are starting one soon in Palamu, Jharkhand with another local partner. We are also all set to start a partnership in Ajmer, Rajasthan and Pune, Maharastra in 2016. While we are raising funds for the current partnerships, we are also exploring possibilities for new partnerships in Bihar, Assam and other parts of India.
